5 Pro-Tips for writing engaging instagram posts for your therapy business

For any business, social media is a critical way to connect with customers and build brand awareness. But for therapists, social media can be especially important because it’s a way to connect with patients and build trust. And trust is key when it comes to therapy – after all, it’s not about “fixing” someone, it’s about helping them get their life back on track.

To help you be as engaging and clear as possible on social media, we’ve put together 5 pro-tips for creating engaging Instagram posts for your therapy business.

1. Know your Target Audience

Knowing your target audience is key.  If you’re a speech therapist, for example, your posts might be geared more towards parents who are looking for advice on how to get their child communicating. If you’re a physical therapist, your posts might be more geared towards people who are dealing with chronic pain.

Be sure to research and know your target audience so that you can create content that resonates with them.

2. Talk about what you can do for your Patients/Clients

When you write your posts, make sure to talk about the specific services that you offer. For example, if you’re an occupational therapist who specializes in helping people with anxiety and depression, make sure to include posts about how your therapy can help.

It’s important to focus on what your patients can get out of therapy – not just what you can get out of therapy yourself! Share photos and videos of the treatments and services that you offer, as well as testimonials from happy patients. This will show prospective patients/clients that you’re capable of providing quality care – and they may even feel inspired to seek out services just from seeing your posts.

3. Share Stories

In addition to talking about what you can do for your patients, also share stories of how your work has helped other people. This will show patients that you care about them and that your work is worth investing in.

Stories are also one of the most powerful ways to engage an audience. When you tell a story, you engage the emotions in your reader’s heart – setting them up for a deep connection with your content. This is why stories work so well on social media – because people tend to share things they care about!

4. Write Clearly and Concisely

When writing your posts, it’s important to be clear and concise. This will help to ensure that your posts are easy to understand, and that patients will be able to understand what you’re trying to say.

If your target audience is not an OT, PT or SLP, don't use jargon or complicated language. Your target audience won’t understand it and it will just confuse them. Make sure you use simple terms that everyone can understand.

5. Be Patient and Persistent

No matter how good your posts are, it’s important to be patient and persistent. If you put in the effort, you’ll be able to convert more patients/clients to your therapy business. Social media followers don't just come from lucky chance; hard work and dedication are essential to building a following on social media. It takes time  and effort and you'll need to continue putting in that effort if you want your followers and social media presence to grow.

When creating content, remember, it does not have to be perfect. Create and see what your audience likes. We are all humans behind the computer screen, so don't be too hard on yourself. To conclude,  remember to be patient, concise and passionate when writing your posts for your therapy business.
